Francisco Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ednez Gallego (1969-) was born in San Antonio de Requena, in the province of Valencia. He began his musical studies at the Conservatory of the Sociedad Musical La Arm\u00f3nica de San Antonio de Requena. Then he entered the Conservatories of Murcia, Torrente and Valencia where in 1994 he obtained the superior title of clarinet.<\/p>\n

He works as a clarinet teacher, band conductor and composer. In 1998 he furthered his musical studies with Jan Cober and Jos\u00e9 Rafael Pascual Vilaplana. Conductor of the ensembles Sociedad Musical El Arte de Sinarcas, the youth band of the Sociedad Musical La Arm\u00f3nica de San Antonio and the group Arm\u00f3nic Brass.
He studied composition with Daniel Flors, Ferrer Ferr\u00e1n, Teodoro Aparicio Barber\u00e1n and Miguel \u00c1ngel Mat\u00e9u. Among his own works are \"Akhenaton\", a symphonic poem about classical Egypt composed in 2004, the suite \"La Concepci\u00f3n en 1910\" from 2005, the suite for band \"Monumentos\" also from 2005 with which he won the First Prize for Symphonic Music Composition for Band of Finestrat and \"Theatrum\", music for the Scene of the year 2007, a suite for various theatrical genres.<\/p>\n

In the month of June 2010 he finishes the Superior Degree of Composition at the Conservatorio Superior de M\u00fasica Salvador Segu\u00ed in Castell\u00f3n de la Plana, studying with Ferrer Ferr\u00e1n, C\u00e9sar Cano Forrat, Miguel \u00c1ngel Berbis L\u00f3pez, Claudia Montero, Jes\u00fas Vizca\u00edno and Emilio Caland\u00edn Hern\u00e1ndez.
He also composes music of festive genre, popular in the Valencian Country in their Moors and Christians Festivities. In the year 2000 he obtained the First Prize in the I National Contest of Festera Music of Altea with the Marcha Mora Ziryab and in 2002 he also obtained the First Prize in the II Contest of Composition of Festera Music of Calpe with the Marcha Mora Benifat.<\/p>\n

The \"Sinfon\u00eda N\u00ba 1\u2033 (Kaprekar) was composed in 2011 for symphonic band. First Prize in the Symphonic Section of the XL Certamen Internacional de Bandas Villa de Altea, held on December 4, 2011 at the Palau Altea Centre d'Arts. It was performed by the Uni\u00f3n Musical de L\u00edria under the direction of Enrique Artiga.
Dattatreya Ramachandra Kaprekar (1905-1986) was an eminent Indian mathematician, who developed several concepts within the theory of numbers. The number 6174 is known as Kaprekar's Constant or Kaprekar's Operation, named after its discoverer.<\/p>\n

This number has an interesting property that is demonstrated as follows. First choose any four-digit number. Arrange the four digits in ascending order, to obtain the minuend of a subtraction. Sort the same four digits in descending order, to obtain the subtrahend of the same subtraction. Calculate the remainder by performing the operation. If the remainder is not equal to 6174, repeat the previous four steps, adding zeros to the right to the minuend and to the left to the subtrahend, whenever necessary to complete the four digits. This operation, repeated if necessary several times, but never more than seven times, ends up giving the result 6174. The process ends here because, if the sequence of steps continues to be repeated, the above result is obtained since 7641 minus 1467 is equal to 6174.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
